Tooth Whitening

There are many factors that contribute to the inevitable yellowing and discoloration of teeth over time. This gradual change can be caused by aging, substances that stain your teeth (such as coffee and tobacco), excessive fluoride, or the deterioration of a tooth's nerve. A tooth whitening treatment can be performed either as an at-home, dentist-supervised process or in the dentist's chair. While neither of these methods stops future discoloration, these tooth whitening treatments bring about whiter teeth and help create a brighter smile.

Ceramic Crowns

When a tooth is cracked, decayed, or damaged, a crown may need to be fitted onto the tooth. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth and provides lasting protection against further damage. Crowns can be made of porcelain, gold and other metals, acrylic resin, or an amalgam (a mix) of these materials. Porcelain crowns have the most realistic appearance and are as durable as the original tooth. Crowns can whiten, reshape, and realign existing teeth, adding to a bright, healthy smile. Computer Imaging

Have you ever wondered what your smile will look like after a dental procedure before the procedure takes place? World Trade Center Dental’s state-of-the-art Computer Imaging system helps patients visualize the results of their dental treatments before they even take place. With the aid of this technology and a digital photograph, our dentists can show you exactly how your teeth can be moved, whitened and reshaped for a perfect smile. A study conducted by Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine suggests that patients have seen greater satisfaction with the use of such imaging technology in comparison to conventional consultations.

Dental Implants

Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture. Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants. Invisalign

straightens your teeth using a series of clear, removable aligners that move your teeth into their normal position. Unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth as usual and can create a more beautiful smile in a step by step process. Since Invisalign is practically invisible, there's no unwarranted attention to your mouth. In fact, very few people will notice at all. They're comfortable to wear and remove easily when you eat, brush, and floss. Click on the picture to the right to see a larger view.

Porcelain Laminates/Veneers

Laminates are thin shells that are laid onto the teeth and bonded to the surface. Although they can be made of different materials, porcelain is frequently used because of its durability and realistic appearance. Laminates are a more conservative substitute to crowns since they require less removal of the tooth's original surface. With laminates or venners in place, patients can expect straighter, whiter, and more even teeth.

Porcelain Inlays

Until recently, dentists filled and sealed cavities exclusively using a silver and mercury compound. Unfortunately, these fillings, or restorations, often weaken teeth due to the large amount of the original tooth that has to be removed. Porcelain inlays utilize a soft white plastic substance that includes a hardening agent. Modern dentistry has increasingly turned to porcelain inlays as a stronger, safer and more natural looking alternative. Click on the picture to the right to see a larger view.
